(Reported by our website, Correspondent: Jia Fengcheng) From August 1 to 3, 2026, the finals of the "Yongxin Cup" 11th National College Students Life Sciences Competition (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Category) were held at the Fanchang Innovation Port of Anhui Agricultural University. The four teams from our school that advanced to the finals performed excellently in the competition and all won national first prizes, setting a new historical best record for the school in this event.
It is reported that this year's competition attracted a total of 7,684 teams from 606 institutions across the country to register, covering fields related to life sciences such as biology, medicine, agriculture, and food science. After multiple rounds of selection including qualification review, online evaluation, and provincial selection, 512 teams from 196 universities in 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) finally advanced to the finals and conducted on-site defenses at the Fanchang Innovation Port, engaging in fierce competition around frontier issues and innovative achievements in the field of life sciences. After strict evaluation by review experts, a total of 297 teams were awarded first prizes.
Before the competition, the school attached great importance to the preparation work and organized the four participating teams to conduct special roadshow rehearsals. External expert Teacher Chen Gong and internal expert Teacher Tang Sheng conducted detailed simulated questioning and guidance around the projects' research background, innovation points, technical routes, and characterization data. Teacher Jia Fengcheng put forward detailed requirements for each participating team regarding defense duration, response logic, presentation style, and pre-competition review drills, encouraging team members to anchor the goal of striving for the top, learn from each other, polish details, and consolidate confidence in winning through full preparation.
In the next step, the school will comprehensively summarize the competition experience, focus on sorting out and optimizing links such as two-way selection of teachers and students, tracking of scientific research progress, pre-competition text guidance, graphic design optimization, and final roadshow defenses, promote the mature preparation model to more A-class competitions, and continuously create a new situation for the school's innovation and entrepreneurship education work.
