(Reported by our website, Correspondent: Jia Fengcheng) On July 26, the 10th National College Students Life Sciences Competition (2026, Scientific Inquiry Category) came to a successful conclusion. With the active mobilization and careful organization of the school, faculty and students of our school once again performed excellently in this high-level national competition, winning 5 national awards and 23 provincial awards, totaling 23 honors! The award-winning students covered undergraduate students majoring in Applied Chemistry and Environmental Engineering from the 2024 and 2023 cohorts. In addition, two young teachers of our school, Tang Sheng and Lei Zhen, were named Outstanding Instructors of the 2026 National College Students Life Sciences Competition (Scientific Inquiry Category).

The specific information of the award-winning projects is as follows:

The National College Students Life Sciences Competition (CUSLC) is one of the 84 national college students' discipline competitions recognized by the Ministry of Education and is an A-class event generally recognized by universities. It has broad influence in the fields of life sciences and related interdisciplinary disciplines (biology, food, medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, environment, etc.). This year's Scientific Inquiry Category competition attracted 26,093 teams from 787 universities across the country to compete fiercely, with unprecedented competition.
The competition comprehensively examines students' scientific research literacy and innovation ability through multiple dimensions such as research reviews, experimental design, experimental records, paper writing, and reflections, providing valuable training opportunities for undergraduate students' scientific research and further study. A total of 41 teams from our school participated in the competition, and they continued to perform excellently in this year's event, fully demonstrating solid professional foundations, outstanding practical ability, and good innovative thinking.

The school will take this excellent competition result as an opportunity to continuously deepen the construction of the science and innovation education system, focus on improving undergraduate students' practical innovation ability and comprehensive quality, and inject new momentum into the university's first-class discipline construction and innovative talent cultivation.
